PB splits in field hockey
The Pine Bush field hockey team got goals from three different players in a 3-1 win over Coxsackie-Athens on Thursday.
Jennifer Sorrentino, Ashanti Melendez and Annie Rodriguez had one goal each for Pine Bush. Sorrentino had two assists.
Coxsackie-Athens got a goal from Lauren Wineguard and an assist from Sophia Walsh.
Two days earlier, Pine Bush was beaten, 1-0, by Pine Plains in overtime.
The game-winner was scored by Autumn Prezzano with an assist from Lindsay Garinaccio.
Grace Grant made 14 saves from Pine Bush.

Bushmen fall to Crusaders 41-13
Two players ran for over 100 yards, but the Pine Bush football team suffered a 41-13 loss to the Monroe-Woodbury Crusaders on Saturday.
Quarterback Danny DeGroodt ran for 118 yards and a touchdown and Emanuel Hannon ran for 101 yards in the loss. Mike DeSena ran for 43 yards and scored a touchdown.
After opening the season with a win over the Valley Central Vikings, the Bushmen have lost three straight games. The loss to Monroe-Woodbury was the Bushmen’s Class AA opener.

VC boys beat Warwick in Cross Country
Jacob and Caleb Sahlstrom finished first and second as the Valley Central boy’s cross country team beat Warwick, 21-34, on Wednesday.
Brady Quinn was fourth and Aundre Rick finished sixth. Vance Palmer and Jake Tannar were eighth and ninth.
Ava Carsley won the girls’ race, but Warwick’s Alyssa Dovico and Shelby Spencer were second and third as the Wildcats posted a 26-31 win over the Vikings in the girls’ race.
Laura Griffin finished fourth and Sydney Remenar was sixth. Catherine Primavera took eighth.
