Uncanny Valley Puppet Slam is soon

Safe Harbors of the Hudson has announced that tickets are now on sale for Uncanny Valley Puppet Slam, an evening of puppetry performances exclusively for grown-ups that will take place Saturday, November 9 at 7 p.m. at Safe Harbors’ Lobby at the Ritz (107 Broadway, Newburgh).

Taking inspiration from the worlds of vaudeville and cabaret, and from experimental theater, art, music, and dance, puppet slams are curated short-form puppetry acts intended for adult audiences that can be humorous, dark, thought-provoking, or all of the above. Uncanny Valley is the first such puppet slam to take place in Newburgh, and will draw puppeteers from the Hudson Valley, NYC, and New England to present an eclectic mix of puppetry styles and performances.

“Safe Harbors is thrilled to welcome these world-class puppeteers to the Lobby at the Ritz, and overjoyed to be creating a regular home for new and experimental puppetry performances in the Hudson Valley,” said Ken Martinez, Safe Harbors of the Hudson’s Director of Performing Arts & Community Programming.

Tickets are $15 in advance / $20 at the door. To purchase: safe-harbors.org/events/uncanny-valley-puppet-slam.
