Kiera McPhillips nearly did it all by herself.
She scored five goals, one short of the Valley Central girls’ lacrosse team’s opponent on May 3, as she led the Vikings to an 11-6 win over Pine Bush.
The Vikings jumped on the board about 30 seconds into the game when Gabriella Morelli scored the first of her two goals.
Then McPhillips went to work scoring two goals within 20 seconds of each other to give the Vikings’ a 3-0 lead. Melanie Greiner followed with her lone goal of the game.

Pine Bush’s Sophia Licardi got Pine Bush on the board with 7:13 left to go in the first half. She went on to score a team-high four goals.
McPhillips finished the first-half scoring with 19 seconds remaining, sending the Vikings into the break with a 5-1 lead.
The teams played more evenly in the second half.
Licardi opened the scoring to cut Valley Central’s lead to 5-2, but the Vikings responded with goals from Rebecca Sibley and Grace Palczewski.
Pine Bush’s Antonia Licardi and Brigid Boyle cut Valley Central’s lead to 7-4, as close as it would get.
Morelli scored her second goal with 12:42 to go in the game and McPhillips’ fourth goal and Palczewski’s second opened a 10-4 lead.
Sophia Licardi finished the Pine Bush scoring with her last two goals, and McPhillips picked up her fifth goal with 3:10 to go.
Greiner and Morelli also added an assist for Valley Central.
The Vikings’ Kiera Ford made 2 saves and Max Martinez made one in the second half. Pine Bush’s Mollie Harris made 13 saves.
Both teams were back in action last Wednesday, with the Vikings’ falling to the Minisink Valley warriors, 18-5.
The Warriors got 14 combined goals from Cayleigh Kuiken (5), Erica Ortiz (5) and Mia Abbruzzese (4).
McPhillips led Valley Central with two goals.
Pine Bush fell to the FDR Presidents, 14-4, on Wednesday.
