I want to take this opportunity to send a sincere thank you to the Walden Sunshine Society, a good neighbor organization organized by Mary Knapp Hill, a Walden woman. Her daughter Margaret Hill Millspaugh, was a charter member.
This month marks 112 years women have been outstanding volunteers in this organization. Through the years they have performed a variety of services. Currently the most valued contribution to the community is their inventory of medical equipment. Walkers, wheel chairs, crutches, canes, knee walkers, potty chairs, shower benches, rollators are loaned free of charge for a three month period, to those in need.
The Sunshine Society currently meets at the Walden Municipal Building - Community Room the first Tuesday of each month from September through June. New members are encouraged to attend. Residents will find in the Walden Sunshine Society an opportunity to help those in their Community.
