The Wallkill Area minors softball team’s run ended on Saturday after reaching the District 19 Final Four.

Wallkill scored the first three runs, but Goshen scored four runs in each of the first two innings on their way to a 17-7 five-inning win on Saturday in Warwick.

The game was called after five innings due to the 10-run rule.

Goshen went on to play Warwick in Sunday’s championship games.

Wallkill Area opened the week on Wednesday with a 15-12 win over Port Jervis on Wednesday in Pine Bush, avenging Wallkill Area’s previous loss to Port Jervis-Eldred, clinching the lead with a five-run fifth inning.

They returned to Pine Bush on Thursday to clinch a 33-17 victory over Monroe-Woodbury, scoring 15 runs in the first inning and another 13 runs in the fourth.

The game was called after four innings due to the 10-run rule.

They opened the championship bracket with a 28-17 win over Minisink Valley on Friday. The game started on Friday but finished on Saturday.
It was called after Wallkill Area scored 15 runs in the fifth inning to take a 12-run lead. Minisink tacked on a run in the bottom of the fifth, but couldn’t push the game to the sixth inning.

Wallkill Area was the last softball team active in District 19 play in any division.
