Wayne E. Rasser (Wayne-O, Opa), a retired machinist on Metro North Railroad for 36 years and long time resident of Pine Bush, NY passed suddenly on Saturday February 6, 2021 at the age of 70 in Pine Bush, NY.  Wayne was born on August 7, 1950 to Hank Rasser and Rita Exler. He graduated from Brentwood High, Long Island, NY in 1968. He was a member of the United States Airforce from 1969-1973 when he was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. Wayne was a devoted, loving and caring husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather and life long friend. He was an all around family man who had an avid love for hunting, boating, fishing, camping, NASCAR racing, blongo ball, corn hole and Red's Apple Ale. He was a man full of life and was know by his family as "Energizer Bunny". 

Wayne is survived by his wife of 50 years Susan (Suzie) Rasser  of Pine Bush, NY, his son James Rasser and Fiance Tina Tice of Cold Spring, NY and his daughter Margaret (Maggie) Beam and her husband Thomas Beam of Montgomery, NY. His grandchildren Cynthia Nestor (Opa's Hamhock) and her husband Keith Nestor of Bloomingburg, NY , Kaylyn Pascoe and her husband William Pascoe of the US Navy, Derek Rasser of Texas and Connor Rasser of Cold Spring, NY. His nephew Andrew Watt that he raised and wife Shallyn Watt of Georgia. His two beautiful great granddaughters that were his world Sadie Rose (Opa's Munchkin), and Naomi Leigh (Opa's Peanut) of Bloomingburg, NY. His brothers Jerry Loughlin and wife Kathy, brother Kenneth Rasser and wife Dobie, brother Larry Rasser and sister in law Christine Rasser, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is predeceased by his parents Henry (Hank) Rasser and Margaret (Marge) Rasser. His Sister Judyanne Rasser, and his youngest daughter Judy Marie Rasser. 
Wayne E. Rasser will be deeply missed by everyone who's lives he touched while here on earth with us. 
Services will be held on Tuesday February 9, 2021 from 5pm-8pm at William M Gagan Funeral Home. 1525 Burlingham Road Pine Bush, NY 12566. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday February 10, 2021 at 10am with a family procession to follow to Calverton National Cemetery Wading River, NY where he will be laid to eternal rest with his daughter Judy Marie Rasser.Due to COVID-19 restrictions capacity is limited.
