Tom, a resident of Bloomingburg, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 2, 2024. He was 65. The son of William T Kirby Sr. and Doris (Jarrett) Adams, Tom was born on March 1, 1959 in Charleston, West Virginia. 

Tom was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, teacher, protector, mentor, coach, and fan. He graduated from Marshall University in 1981 and spent the majority of his career with Yellow Freight Corporation. Tom was an avid golfer and passed this love on to his son and grandson. Tom was looking forward to moving to South Carolina where he could golf almost year round. Tom loved sports and knew the importance of sports in a young person’s life. He coached his children and grandchildren anytime there was a need. He rarely missed a game as a spectator, and recently started umpiring youth baseball games.

Tom was someone who could handle almost any situation with humor, drive, respect, and strength. The loss of Tom will leave a giant hole in many people’s hearts, but the lessons he has shared with the many people that he loved will continue on. 

 Tom is survived by: wife, Marianne Kirby; two children, Kristinna Crowe (Aaron Weiss) and William T. Kirby III (Nicole); grandchildren, Connor Crowe, Maggie Crowe, and William T. Kirby IV; brother, David Kirby (Elizabeth), half sister Wilean Goforth; niece Lauren Kirby and a host of other relatives and friends. 

Tom was predeceased by: father, William T. Kirby Sr.; mother, Doris Adams; and stepfather, Allen Adams. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday August 8, 2024 from  2-4 and 7-9 pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd. Pine Bush. Funeral services will be offered on Friday August 9,  at 11 am at the funeral home. Burial will take place in New Prospect Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the William M.
