The Greater Hudson Valley Baseball League playoffs began on Friday, with three local teams suffering elimination in their opening games.

Teams still alive as of Sunday include: the 11U Pine Bush Rebels White, the 14U Pine Bush Rebels, the 14U Wallkill Panthers, the 10U, Wallkill Wildcats, and the 12U Pine Bush Rebels.

10UD4 Championship
First Round

No. 7 Wallkill Wildcats 5, Beekman Bandits 4, 8 innings
The Wallkill Wildcats got a steal of home in the bottom of the eighth inning for a walk-off playoff game on Friday at Wallkill Area Little League.

The Bandits scored a run in the second inning, but the Wildcats answered with four runs in the third inning. The Bandits added two in the fourth and one in the fifth to tie the game.

11U
Wallkill 18, Pine Bush Rebels Blue 5

Wallkill scored 9 runs in the third inning and six more in the fifth on their way to a 13-run win over the Pine Bush Rebels Blue on July 24 at Crawford Town Park in Pine Bush.

The game was called after five innings due to the 10-run rule.

The Rebels scored two runs in the third inning and single runs in the first, second and fifth.

Pine Bush Rebels White 9,
Pine Bush Rebels Blue 1

In the battle between Pine Bush Rebels, White scored six runs in the fourth inning on their way to an eight-run win over Blue on July 25 at Crawford Town Park in Pine Bush.

White scored three runs in the second inning.
Blue scored their lone run in the fourth.

Quarterfinals

No. 2 Somers Red Storm 10, No. 7 Wallkill 5
The Somers Red Storm scored six runs in the fourth inning on their way to a victory in Friday’s Division 4 championship quarterfinals on Friday.

Wallkill scored a run in the second inning, but Somers took the lead with two runs in the third inning before the Red Storm blew the game open in the fourth. Wallkill scored three in the fifth inning and one in the sixth.

Kent White Sox 14, Pine Bush Rebels 0

The Pine Bush Rebels managed only one hit in a five-inning loss to the Kent White Sox on July 23 at Crawford Town Park in Pine Bush.

The game was called by the 10-run rule.

Wheelhouse Marauders 6, Pine Bush Rebels 0
The Pine Bush Rebels suffered a doubleheader sweep at the hands of the Wheelhouse Marauders on July 25 at Crawford Town Park in Pine Bush.

Hudson Valley Aces 6, Wallkill Panther 5
The Hudson Valley Aces scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning to pull out a victory over the Wallkill Panther on July 24 at the Wallkill Area Little League complex.

The Aces took a 2-0 lead after three innings, but the Panther took a 3-2 lead after six innings.

Division 3 Championship
First Round

No. 4 9er Bulldogs 5, No. 13 Wallkill Panthers 3
The 9er Bulldogs broke a 2-2 tie with three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to eliminate the Wallkill Panthers from the playoffs.

The Bulldogs took the lead twice, but the Panthers tied the game twice, until the Bulldogs went ahead for good.

Newburgh Red Storm 3, Pine Bush Rebels 2

Pine Bush Rebels 11, Newburgh Red Storm 1
The Newburgh Red Storm scored three runs in the first inning and held on for a one-run win in Game 1 of a doubleheader on July 23 at Crawford Town Park in Pine Bush.

Braden Algarin doubled and had an RBI and John Reilly singled and drove in a run. Logan Miller had two hits and an RBI for the Rebels.

The Rebels rebounded in the second game with a 10-run, five-inning win over the Red Storm. Tyler Ingalls had three hits and two RBIs, and Easton Vellenga added two RBIs.

High School

D3 Championship First Round
No. 11 North Salem Tigers 6, No. 6 Wallkill Panther 4
The North Salem Tigers scored two runs in the first inning as they ended the Panthers’ summer season with a win on Saturday at Volunteer Park in North Salem.

The game was originally scheduled to be played in Wallkill, home of the higher seeded Panthers, but was moved due to weather.

Julian Butcher had a hit and two RBIs for the Panthers. Bryce Hollo took the loss.
