The Kiwanis Club of Newburgh held its 2024-2025 Installation of Officers Dinner on Thursday at Temple Hill Tavern. Lt. Gov. Kate Landi installed the officers for the upcoming Kiwanis year: Eileen Buckley as president, Chris Scheible as president-elect, Robin Bello as secretary, and Robert Marchione as treasurer.

New members Valerie and Randy McMurtrie, Anne Mahoney, and Laura Younie were welcomed and received their official membership certificates and Kiwanis pins.

John Goldstein, New York District Key Club administrator, addressed Key Club officers and advisors from Cornwall High School and Newburgh Free Academy in attendance.

The Everyday Hero Award was presented to Linda Jansen of the Orange County Department of Health’s Community Outreach Division, and William “Dave” Davis was honored as Kiwanian of the Year. Davis, a member for 52 years, celebrated with his family, including his wife Shirley, daughter Daryl Ann, and grandson Mason.

President Eileen Buckley concluded the evening with remarks thanking members for their support of the club’s service projects.

The Kiwanis Club of Newburgh meets on the first Thursday of each month at 7:30 a.m. at Perkins Restaurant and on the third Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Gus’s Tavern.
