Assemblyman Jonathan Jacobson (D-Newburgh) has joined the growing list of legislators calling for the resignation of Governor Andrew Cuomo amid allegations of sexual harrassment by several women, including two former staffers. and an investigation into his behavior by NY Attorney General Letitia James.

“The evidence that has emerged over the past two weeks is clear: Governor Cuomo’s actions demonstrate an indefensible pattern of harassment and abuse,” Jacobson said in a statement released Monday. “Together with the evidence of the nursing home cover-up, the time has come for him to face the consequences of his behavior and step down. He no longer has the credibility to lead or to govern effectively.”

Last week, State Senator James Skoufis (D-Woodbury) and Assemblyman Colin Schmitt (R-New Windsor) also called for his resignation. Schmitt also co-sponsored an Assembly resolution calling for Cuomo’s impeachment.
