The New Windsor Ambulance Corps appeared before the town board during their regular meeting to be recognized for their professionalism in their response to a cardiac arrest call.

Members of the corps gathered that night included John Lopez, Kyle Carpenter, Josh Kawski, Christine Kawski, Brandon Arciello, Shea Tetreault, Chief Michael Bigg, Nick Gardinier and Michele Blossom of the New Windsor Ambulance Corps. Christine Kawski and Brandon Arciello were members who responded to the call that day.

The cardiac arrest call came in on April 8 and with defibrillation and using transcutaneous pacing techniques, which paces the heart during a medical emergency, resulted in the revival and stabilization of the patient. The patient was transported safely to the emergency department.

Town Board members and those gathered applauded the members of the ambulance corps present for their work in saving the resident’s life. “You [the ambulance corps] are appreciated. We look for a continuation of great things from you,” said New Windsor Supervisor George Meyers.
