Newburgh City Manager Todd Venning is pleased to announce his appointment of Quanetta Inman as Code Compliance Supervisor. Ms. Inman has served in positions of increasing responsibility within the Bureau of Code Compliance for nearly eight years, most recently as a Senior Code Compliance Officer since March 2023.

Prior to her promotion to Senior Code Compliance Officer, Ms. Inman served as a Code Compliance Officer since September 2016.

As Code Compliance Supervisor, Inman heads the Bureau of Code Compliance and is empowered to issue permits and enforce all laws, ordinances, and regulations applicable to the construction, alteration, repair, removal, or demolition of buildings and structures. The Code Compliance Supervisor is further authorized to conduct surveys and inspections to ascertain the condition and adequacy of structures and facilities, issue orders and violations to compel compliance with construction and housing codes, and keep such relevant records for public inspection.

Inman will direct the work of the Bureau’s eighteen employees, under the general supervision of the Fire Chief, and direction of the City Manager.

The City of Newburgh has declined a request from the Mid Hudson Times to interview the new code compliance officer.
