Mighty Marlins rise to victory

The Marlboro Mighty Marlins were extremely mighty on Friday at they posted a victory over the Hudson Valley Storm Diaz team on Friday at Town of Newburgh Little League.
The Lloyd Clippers Post continued to struggle in Junior American Legion action, while the Marlboro 10U Dukes were eliminated form the Eastern New York State tournament with a second loss to the Guilderland Bulldogs.
The 12U Marlins suffered a loss, and two Hudson Valley Storm teams played each other.

Kingston Post 150 16, Lloyd Clippers Post 193 3
Jack Purvis had four hits, three runs scored and two RBIs, as Kingston Post 150 posted a 16-3 win over the Lloyd Clippers Post 193 on July 9 at Tony Williams Park in Highland.
Bruce Hanlon had two hits and an RBI for the Clippers and Michael Secor had two hits, a run scored and an RBI.

Guilderland Bulldogs 10, Marlboro, 4
Guilderland scored eight runs in the first two innings, as they ended Marlboro’s tournament run on July 7 in Altamont.
The Dukes scored a run in the second, another in the third and two more in the fifth.
Guilderland added two more runs in the fourth. Each team had nine hits. Marlboro made two errors.

Marlboro Mighty Marlins 22, Hudson Valley Storm Diaz 3
The Mighty Marlins scored 10 runs in the second inning as they ran all over the Hudson Valley Storm Diaz on Friday at the Town of Newburgh Little League complex.
The Marlins scored four runs in the top of the first inning, and the Storm got one back in the bottom of the first inning.
After scoring 10 runs in the second, the Marlins scored four each in the next two innings. The Storm scored two more runs in the third.
The game was stopped after the fourth inning.

12U Division 3
Beacon Bulldogs 5, Marlboro Marlins 2
The Marlboro Marlins were limited to two hits in loss to the Beacon Bulldogs on Wednesday at Young’s Park in Milton.
Beacon took a 5-0 lead into the bottom of the sixth inning. The Marlins scored both of their runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Hudson Valley Storm One 8, Hudson Valley Storm Two 4
Hudson Valley Storm One 1, Hudson Valley Storm Two 1
Hudson Valley Storm One beat Storm Two in the first game and the two teams battled to a tie in the second on Saturday at Delano-Hitch Stadium in Newburgh.
John Gore had three hits, two runs scored, and an RBI and Casey Vogel had two hits and three RBIs, and Xavier Vargas had a hit and an RBI for Storm One.
Mike Daley had a hit and wo RBIs for Storm Two.
Andrew Hollo doubled in a run for Storm Two in the second game and Tyler Valentin singled home a run for Storm One.
