Cornwall Presbyterian gathers food for Families

Posted

It was busy at the Cornwall Presbyterian Church the morning of August 7 when volunteers gathered to pack boxes of food for eight local families enrolled in the Cornwall Central School District.

Backpacks For Food volunteers packed the boxes after purchasing the food earlier in the week; each box also contained two grocery store gift cards. Then, Amy Bishopp, director of Food Service for the CCSD, arrived with a team of helpers to load the packed boxes and to head out to deliver them.

“It is wonderful how BFF volunteers always show up to help make the process easy and fun,” Sally Mattausch, co-chair of BFF said. “BFF will be present at the upcoming Cornwall Fall Festival. Stop by the BFF booth if you are interested in volunteering or knowing more about the Backpacks For Food community program.”
