Crawford PD sport UFO patch

The Town of Crawford Police Department is having fun while raising funds.

The department has unveiled a special edition police patch and vehicle decal, which feature an unidentified flying object, alien and the phrase Crawford, N.Y.– NYS UFO Capital.

This idea came from Pine Bush’s reputation as a hotbed for alien sightings, abductions and encounters. Stories of alien sightings date as far back as the 1960s, but the town’s reputation as a hotbed for UFO sightings was solidified after many sightings that occurred during the mid-1980s and continued into the 1990s.

Those interested can purchase the patch and vehicle decal for $10. Customers can buy the patch and vehicle decals at the police department by asking for “Agent J.” They can also send a self-addressed stamped envelope to the Town of Crawford Police Department, 121 NY-302, Pine Bush 12566.

The patches and decals will also be available at the Town’s Small Business and Tourism Table at the Town of Crawford First Friday event on Oct. 2. This event will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Main Street in Pine Bush and at the Town Gazebo.

So far the community has appreciated the creative patches and decals.

“I took the opportunity to bring my seven-year-old son down to the Crawford Police Department to reinforce the fact that police are essential and not the enemy,” said Mariano Anaya Jr. “Thank you for the warm reception Crawford PD.”
