Dukes improve to 4-0 with win at New Paltz

The Marlboro Central Varsity Boys Football team kept their perfect season intact with a 34-14 victory over New Paltz High School on Friday night.

The Dukes, ranked 203rd in MaxPreps’ New York football rankings, were the clear favorite over the Huguenots, ranked 442nd, and they delivered with a decisive win.

Carter Rivieccio led Marlboro Central’s offense, throwing for 200 yards and four touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes. The defense also contributed with two interceptions from Chris DeNatale and Daylon McKenzie.

New Paltz saw strong performances from Sean Marz, who rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown, and Nicolas Horowitz, who added 75 rushing yards and a touchdown. Marz broke free for a 71-yard run to highlight his effort.

With the win, Marlboro Central improved to 4-0, extending their road winning streak to five games dating back to last season. New Paltz fell to 1-3 with their third straight loss.

Marlboro Central will face Liberty on Friday at 7 p.m., while New Paltz will take on Port Jervis at the same time.
