The next meeting of ‘As the Curtain Falls’, a coffee and conversation group, will be held on Tuesday, August 27, at 11 a.m. at the Mission Center of the Hudson Highlands United Methodist Church at 316 Main Street, Highland Falls.

This group’s focus is on “Not If, But When;” they are “now” people, organizer Pastor Agnes Saffoury said. “The invitation is open to all who are interested in addressing the important issues we face as the curtain closes. We are working on writing autobiographies and spiritual journeys.”

The regular monthly meeting times at 11 a.m. on the second and fourth Fridays of each month will resume on September 13 and 27.

Two new special one-time events are now scheduled for the coming months. Colin Campbell, president and funeral director, William F. Hogan Funeral Home, will lead an informative interactive discussion on “funeral planning” on Saturday, September 7, at 11 a.m. at the Mission Center.

Kerry Potter Kotecki, “Dying to Bloom,” will speak about “Green Burial” and answer questions from the audience on Saturday, October 26, at 11 a.m.

Both programs are free and open to the public, as well as the ongoing sessions of ‘’As The Curtain Falls.”
