Did you know that the Village of Highland Falls and Scenic Hudson collaborated to establish Highland Falls Preserve? It’s a new park, offering residents and visitors a walkable, scenic destination to experience nature, appreciate views of the Hudson, and explore the Village’s unique cultural history, geology, and plant life.
Highland Falls Preserve is 32 acres of Hudson Highlands rock ledges and pitch-pine forest, featuring a community picnic area and stunning Hudson River views. This project was made possible through a collaborative partnership between Scenic Hudson, the Village of Highland Falls, and a committee of dedicated residents.
On Saturday, Oct. 3, from 3 - 5 p.m. there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at the location (20 Havens Road, Highland Falls). There will be fun activities for all ages, including a guided walk, community meal, drum circle, and art projects led by Strawtown Studio, whose superpower is connecting young people with the natural world through art and science discovery.
