I am writing to support Stephen Krasner, the Democratic candidate for supervisor in the Town of Newburgh.

Stephen’s priorities include putting the needs of residents before developers when it comes to new building projects. How will they affect our roads, our energy requirements, our first responders? To that end, he will promote developing an online dashboard where residents can view major projects before the bulldozers arrive.

He wants to make the workings of town government easier to understand by supporting the live-streaming of board meetings and workshops that will also be recorded and archived. He will also push to make it easier for residents to find information on budgets, contracts, audits and financial reports.

He also has ideas to improve our fiscal reporting and long-term planning and our investments in infrastructure, safety and emergency preparedness.

Perhaps most importantly, Stephen will make town government more open and responsive to the people who live here. Anyone who has dealt with town government knows it is not always an easy task.
