The Ulster County Office of the Aging took good care of our Seniors this past month by meeting with them to explain the changes and/or new options available with Medicare for 2027. Those with specific questions were spoken to privately to answer their questions. Upcoming this month, the Walker Valley Fire Co, will come and explain Narcan and defibrillator instructions and a representative from the local Walgreens will come to provide flu shots to those interested. Plans are in the works for a Huson River Cruise scheduled for October 14th which will include bus and lunch. The Seniors will be having a holiday luncheon on October 28th at 12:30 p.m. at the Mountain Brahuas. The group has also reserved the Aquaturf in Connecticut on July 13th, 2027 for a luncheon and entertainment as a Bobby Darin and Frank Sinatra tribute. Welcome to new member Pat Dixon. Contact Pres. Stephanie Jansen @ 845.978.0148 for membership info on how you can be part of their exciting adventures! Mountain View UMC:
The congregation recently announced that they are being called to a new ministry plan with new partners and a new leadership team. Incoming Pastor Bright Einstein Nogoh, a young man with outstanding academic and ministry credentials who hails from Ghana, was appointed to be their new Pastor as of September 1st. New ministry partners will be the congregations of Walden and Bullville UMCs. All three groups will remain separate congregations, but will be urged to share resources and programs, as well as leadership, in the spirit of the co-operative parish. All members of the communities are welcome to attend services at any of the locations.
