Ryan and House Democrats celebrate second anniversary of PACT Act

Two years ago, the PACT Act (Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics Act of 2022) was signed into law marking the largest expansion of benefits and services for veterans in more than 30 years, thanks to House Democrats, Congressman Pat Ryan said this week.

Since its passage, there have been over 1.1 million approved PACT Act claims – having received 2229 claims in New York’s 18th Congressional District – delivering: more than $5.7 billion in earned PACT Act-related benefits provided to veterans and their survivors; expedited timelines for veterans to receive their earned care and benefits by several years; and free screenings for toxic exposures for more than 5.6 million veterans.

This summer, Ryan, an Iraq War veteran, said he has dedicated a constituent services van to travel to veterans’ services organizations across NY-18 to take on critical casework. He has also led efforts to build affordable housing, reduce health care costs, and expand home loan eligibility for veterans and military families.
