Huskes edged in
girls tennis
Lena Tran and Shreya Golkonda picked up wins for the Highland Huskies in a 3-2 loss to the FDR Presidents on Oct. 8 in a Mid Hudson Athletic league girls’ tennis match on Oct. 8 at Tony Williams Park in Highland.
Tran blanked Destiny Velasquez, 6-0, 6-0 and Golkonda beat Marendy Lopez, 6-0, 6-0. Ella Fuller fell 6-2, 2-6, 6-1 to FDR’s Brook-Lynn Parker.
Sierra Spinelli and Maddie Chaffee lost their first doubles match and Isabelle Mieth and Lila Theriot lost 6-0, 6-1 lost at second doubles.

Highland finished the regular season, 2-8.

Huskies blank Dukes
in girls soccer
Sophie Valentino scored two goals, leading the Highland Huskies to a 2-0 win over the Marlboro Dukes on Oct. 8 at Dennis Burkett Field at Marlboro High School.

Alyssa Fritche made 12 saves for the Huskies.
The Huskies opened the week with a 1-0 loss to the Rhinebeck Hawks, and the Dukes opened the week with a 10-1 loss to the Spackenkill Spartans on Oct. 7.
