Sit & Chat, the local history group, is pleased to announce that veteran presenter Richard Sullivan will speak about another phase of our local history on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 6 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, 134 Old State Rd., Highland Falls.
Sullivan, Highlands deputy town supervisor, is a well-known hiker and collector of historical information which he shares through lecturing, and video clips, along with pictures and artifacts.
Originally named Martelaer’s Rock, Constitution Island has a long and documented history. Sullivan will cover anecdotal stories, as well as verified facts, many of which are lesser known and intriguing. The program promises to be informative and entertaining. As always, there will be time for audience interaction.
As an integral part of the services offered through The Center of Highland Falls during its 13 year history, Sit & Chat provides opportunities to learn more about the Highlandss portion of the Hudson River Valley. Join the group as it virtually canoes to the east side of the Hudson. Free and open to the public.
