What is great is the condition of both the coin and the card it is attached to! The reverse side of the coin details the places connected to our first President. The reverse side of the card has the names of the individuals on the New York State George Washington Bicentennial Commission.

The George Washington Bicentennial Commission was a federally-chartered group charged with coordinating the celebration of the 200th anniversary of George Washington’s birth in 1932.

What is interesting is the date this was done. Our country was in the midst of a great depression, yet took the time to gather people together to celebrate a historical event. We have upcoming celebrations to mark milestones in our country’s history in the near future. Perhaps we’ll see some new coinage being issued, perhaps even by the mint at West Point.
