The Goldbacks got two hat tricks from a pair of seventh graders in a 10-0 win over the Ellenville Blue Devils on Sept. 22 at Academy Field.

Leonella Enamorado-Garcia picked up her second hat trick of the season with four goals, while Camilia Arduna scored three goals of her own. Enamorado-Garcia’s first hat trick was on Sept. 14 in the Goldbacks’ 3-2 win over the Kingston Tigers.

It was a big week for the Goldbacks who played three games in four days to start the week. The Goldbacks opened the week with a 5-0 win over the Poughkeepsie Pioneers. Then on Thursday, they posted a 4-1 win over the Middletown Middies at Academy Field.
The Goldbacks finished the week with a 8-0 loss to the Monroe-Woodbury Crusaders on a rainy and windy Saturday morning.

The Crusaders scored five goals in the first half and added three more in the second.
The Goldbacks only have one senior on their roster – Arlene Dominguez – along with eight juniors. The rest of the team is made up of sophomores and younger, including three eighth graders – Nely Diaz, Zambrano and Ava Cadden – to go along with the two seventh graders.

They’ve already posted two Orange County Interscholatic Athletic Association Division I wins with their victories over Kingston and Middletown. They did, however, suffer a 7-1 loss to the Pine Bush Bushmen on Sept. 16.

They are scheduled to start the second half of their divisional schedule on Oct. 8 when they visit the Tigers at Dietz Stadium. They need two more divisional wins to qualify for the Section 9 Class AAA tournament.
