The New York State Department of Transportation advised motorists today that State Route 52 will be closed to traffic between Ulster Avenue and Orange Avenue in the Village of Walden, Orange County, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., beginning Wednesday, August 14, through Tuesday, August 20, to facilitate utility work, weather permitting. 

Motorists should follow the posted detour as an alternate.

Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone.  Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
