Crawford to name gazebo after Buddy and Alice Wild

The Town of Crawford will hold a ceremony on Thursday, July 18 at 5:30 p.m. to dedicate one of Crawford Walking Trail’s gazebos to Joseph “Buddy” and Alice Wild, a couple that spent 40 years turning an abandoned property into a thriving family farm.

“During the summer,” notes a passage on the town’s Facebook page, “ you could find the Wilds on their tractor cutting, raking and bailing hay that would feed their livestock during the winter. Buddy and Alice turned the farm into a meaningful place where children, grandchildren, family and friends were always welcome and could often be found gathering together. The Wild Farm Legacy shall live on forever and can now be enjoyed by many.””

Crawford Supervisor Charles Carnes and the board hope to memorialize these two residents’ legacy for their dedication to the farm and the great times they shared with the community.
