Depew Pickle Ball tournament is June 23

All are welcome to participate in the Josh Depew Pickle Ball Tournament. It will be held in the Veterans Memorial Park in the Village of Montgomery on Sunday, June 23 at 10 am. Registration is $80 per team. All proceeds will be donated to the Bobell family to help with medical expenses.

Montgomery Free Library news: “Adventure begins at your Library, A Summer Reading Program for students in grades 1-6 will be held Wednesday nights from 6 - 7 p.m. on the library lawn. It’s a free program sponsored by the Friends of the Montgomery Library. Register June 26 to July 1, receive a bag of goodies and instructions. Dates are: July 10, 17, 24 & 31. Also there will be a program for children ages 3-5 on Saturdays from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. in the library. There will be a story, craft and a small surprise. The dates are: July 6, 13, 20 & 27. Space is limited. Teen volunteers are also needed. This is a good opportunity for scouts and high school students who need community service time.

From the Montgomery Senior Center comes the following: A new activity alert: Zumba Mondays 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Starting Monday June 3rd, the cost is $5 per class. First class is FREE!!!

The Montgomery Senior Center Picnic Lunch will be held on Tuesday, July 9 at 12 p.m. at the Center at 36 Bridge Street. Enjoy sandwiches, salads, chips, and desserts. Cost is $7/person. Space is limited and Montgomery residents will have priority.

A two hour NYC Lunch & Sight-Seeing Cruise will be held on Thursday, July 18. The cost is $90 per person. The bus will leave Montgomery Senior Center at 9:30 a.m. Priority will be given to Montgomery Residents.

See a Yankee vs Mets Game on Wednesday, July 23 at 7 p.m. Ticket and transportation is only $100 per person for a fun filled evening.

Don your Sunday best to attend the Oktoberfest Wedding of Freida & Fritz Show. This trip is on Thursday, October 24 at the Riverview Inn and the cost is $50 per person.

The sight of summer flowers popping up is the perfect time to get ready to join your neighbors in the Town of Montgomery Community Garden. The Open Call for Projects is an opportunity for stakeholders, community members, and business owners to submit projects for consideration by the LPC for inclusion in Montgomery’s NY Forward Strategic Investment Plan.

The General Montgomery Day Committee announced that Paul Satkowski was selected as Grand Marshal for General Montgomery Day this year. Congrats, Paul!

The list of performers is out for the Village of Montgomery Summer Concert Series. The music takes place from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. in the Downtown Bandstand on Clinton Street in Montgomery. The Manaklin Brothers will perform on June 27.
