The Town of New Windsor Recreation Department will host the Friday Night Flix Movies in the Park series this summer at Kristi Babcock Memorial Park, 660 Mt. Airy Road. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy movies on a huge screen, with refreshments available for purchase.
The featured movie is “Wonka” a 2023 musical fantasy film. It tells the origin story of Willy Wonka, a character in the 1964 novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl, depicting his early days as a chocolatier, and serves as a prequel to the first film based on Dahl's novel, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.[6] The film stars Timothée Chalamet as the title character, with an ensemble cast including Calah Lane, Keegan-Michael Key, Paterson Joseph, Matt Lucas, Mathew Baynton, Sally Hawkins, Rowan Atkinson, Jim Carter, Olivia Colman, and Hugh Grant.
Residents are welcome to bring lawn chairs, blankets and spend a family evening in the park.
