Pine Bush Juniors advance to championship

The Pine Bush junior baseball team has clinched a berth in the District 19 championship game, which was scheduled for Monday night at Pine Bush Town Park.

Pine Bush won two games, routing Otisville and the Town of Newburgh.

They need one win to capture a District championship. If they win the District 19 championship, they will move on to Section 3 play, which is scheduled to begin Friday.

The Minors and Majors tournaments also began last week and will continue into this week.

Greater Hudson Valley Baseball League play also continued last week.

Pine Bush 2, Monroe-Woodbury 1
All runs were scored in the first inning as Pine Bush opened the tournament with a win over Monroe-Woodbury on Saturday at Veteran’s Park in Montgomery.

Monroe-Woodbury scored a run in the top of the first inning and Pine Bush responded with two in the bottom of the first inning.

Wallkill Area 22, Warwick Carroll 12
Wallkill Area scored 10 runs in the second inning as they routed Warwick Carroll on Saturday at Pine Bush Little League.
Wallkill Area led13-5 after the second inning and scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to end the game by the 10-run rule.

Washingtonville 21, Montgomery 4
Washingtonville scored seven runs in the first inning and Wallkill never recovered, in a blowout loss on Saturday at the Town of Newburgh.
Washingtonville added four more in the second inning and Montgomery scored two runs in the third to close the gap to 11-4. Washingtonville answered with two in the fourth and eight more in the fifth to end the game by the 10-run rule.

Pine Bush 9, Town of Newburgh 3
Pine Bush recovered from a 3-1 deficit with four runs in the third inning to take the lead in a tournament-opening win over Town of Newburgh on Saturday fat Town of Wallkill.
Pine Bush scored four more runs in the fifth inning to pull away.
Town of Newburgh managed three hits.

Port Jervis-Eldred 7, Wallkill Area 6

Port Jervis scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to walk off Wallkill area in the opening game of the tournament on Saturday in Middletown.
The teams were tied, 3-3, after two innings and Wallkill Area scored three runs in the third to take a 6-3 lead.
Port Jervis-Eldred pulled to within a run with two in the fourth inning before winning the game in the sixth inning.

Otisville 6, Montgomery 2

Montgomery took a two-run lead in the second inning, but Otisville responded with three runs in the fourth inning to take the lead for good in the tournament opener for both teams on Saturday at the Town of Newburgh.
Otisville added two more runs in the fifth inning to open a four-run lead.

Minisink 20, Town of Wallkill 2
The Town of Wallkill managed a run in the first inning and another in the second, but Minisink scored nine runs in the first inning to take control before Wallkill touched the bat.
The game ended after three innings by the 10-run rule.

Juniors
Pine Bush 19, Otisville 0
Dylan Bekgran had two hits, two runs scored and an RBI, as Pine Bush obliterated Otisville to open the tournament on Thursday.
The game was called after four innings due to the 15-run rule.
Trevor Fontana doubled, tripled, scored three runs, and drove in one. Mason Miranowicz had a hit, two runs scored and two RBIs.

Town of Newburgh 25, Montgomery 0
The Town of Newburgh scored 25 runs in the first inning as they sent Montgomery to the consolation bracket.
Sean Hinspeter had three hits, including a double and a triple and four RBIs. Jayden Brooks and Tyler Mrrero had three RBIs each.
Three Montgomery batters walked but didn’t have a hit or a run in their only at-bat.

Pine Bush 15, Town of Newburgh 1

Finn Gandolfini had three hits, including two triples, three RBIs and three runs scored as Pine Bush routed Town of Newburgh to clinch a berth in Monday’s championship game on Saturday at Middletown.
They were scheduled to play the winner of Sunday’s game between Town of Newburgh and Otisville at 5:30 p.m. at Pine Bush.
Pine Bush scored four runs in the first inning and nine more in the second inning. Vince Rubino had two doubles, three runs scored and three RBIs. Dylan Bekgran had three hits, two runs scored and two RBIs.
Sean Hinspeter homered for the Town of Newburgh.

Otisville 10, Montgomery 3

Montgomery got some runs on the board on Saturday but was eliminated from the tournament by a loss to Otisville on Saturday at Pine Bush Town Park.

Hudson Valley Storm Blair 5, Beacon Bulldogs 4
The Hudson Valley Storm took the lead with a five-run second inning and then held off a Beacon Bulldogs comeback attempt to escape with a win on June 23 at Memorial Park in Beacon.

The Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, before the Storm took the lead for good in the second. The Bulldogs scored a run in the fifth and two more in the sixth, but the game ended with the tying run being thrown out at home.

10U Division 4
Pine Bush Rebels 9, USA Prime HV 8
The Pine Bush Rebels broke the tie with a run in the bottom of the fifth inning and then held on for a victory on June 23 over USA Prime Hudson Valley at Pine Bush Town Park.
The Rebels built an 8-2 lead after three innings, but the Prime tied the game with a six-run fifth inning.

11U Division 3
Wallkill Panthers 6, Blue Sox 1
Wallkill Panthers 2, Blue Sox 1
The Wallkill Panthers swept a doubleheader from the Blue Sox on June 23 at Wallkill Area Little League.
The Panthers jumped out to an early lead in the first game with a run in the first three in the second and two more in the third inning to take a 6-0 lead. The Blue Sox got a run in the sixth.

The second game was a much tighter affair, as the Panthers scored two runs in the top of the sixth inning to win. The Blue Sox scored their only run in the first inning.

11U Crossover
Poughkeepsie Lightning 13, Wallkill Panthers 2
The Poughkeepsie Lightning jumped all over the Wallkill Panthers on Thursday at Wallkill Area Little League.
The Panthers scored two runs in the second inning in a game that was stopped after four innings by the 10-run rule.

12U Crossover
Marlboro 10, Pine Bush Rebels White 0
The Marlboro Marlins scored six runs in the fourth inning to win a four-inning game on June 23 at Young’s Park in Milton.
The game was called due to the 10-run rule.
The Marlins scored one in the first inning, two in the second and one in the third before they erupted in the fourth.

12U Division 4
Hillcrest Lakers 3, Hudson Valley Storm 2
The Hillcrest Lakers handed the Hudson Valley Storm a one-run loss on June 23 at Rory O’Moore in Yonkers.

Westchester 21, Hudson Valley Storm Two 4

The Hudson Valley Storm Two were swept by the Westchester Elite in a doubleheader on Saturday at New Windsor Little League.

The Hudson Valley Storm swept a doubleheader from the Lumberjacks White on Saturday at Lagrange Park in Lagrangeville.

Prospects Elite 17, Pine Bush Rebels 2
The Prospects Elite Rivera scored 11 runs in the third inning and then added six more in the fourth inning to rout the Pine Bush Rebels on June 25 at Hyde Park Little League.
The game was called after five innings by the 10-run rule.
The Rebels took a 2-0 lead in the second inning.

Rockland Pirates Barna 11, Pine Bush Rebels Select 1
The Pine Bush Rebels Select suffered a 10-run loss on June 23 at Stony Point Little League.

14U Division 4
Hudson Valley Heroes 5, Hudson Valley Storm Two 1
The Hudson Valley Storm Two got their only run in the sixth inning on a sixth-inning single by Matt Gingold in a loss to the Hudson Valley Heroes on June 23 at Stanford Rec.

Christian Hines and Oliver Romney also had hits for the Storm.
Zack Lattrell led the Heroes with two RBIs.

Hudson Valley Storm Two 11, Pleasantville Panthers 4
Hudson Valley Storm Two 12, Pleasantville Panthers 9
Matt Gingold singled, drove in two runs and scored one, leading the Hudson Valley Storm Two to a win in the opening game on their way to a two-game sweep of the Pleasantville Panthers on Saturday at Parkway Field in Pleasantville.

Oliver Romney had a single and an RBI and Josh Wager doubled and drove in a run. Will Hart had a had two hits an RBI and a run scored,
Trystan Rosario had a hit and two runs scored and three RBIs, leading the Storm Two to a win in the second game. Christian Hines had two hits, a run scored and two RBIs.

Westchester Elite 10, Wallkill Panthers 0
Westchester Elite 13, Wallkill Panthers 3

The Panthers got only one hit, a single by Noah Davis, and made four errors in a first-game loss. At Wallkill Area Little League.
The game was called after five innings by the 10-run rule. The Elite scored five in the fourth inning and five more in the fifth.
The Elite broke a 3-3 tie with a 10-run fifth inning in another game called by the 10-run rule. A.J. Santacroce had two hits, including a double. Ryan Murphy and John Harrington each had a hit and an RBI.

Pine Bush Rebels 6, Poughkeepsie Vikings 3
The Pine Bush Rebels scored three runs each in the first and second innings to beat the Poughkeepsie Vikings on June 23 at Clearwater Park in New Paltz.

Connor Laird doubled and drove in two runs. Robbie Cummings scored a run and drove in a run. Jeremiah Franco had a hit and a run scored.

Pine Bush Rebels 14, Wallkill Panthers 10
Carter Campos doubled and drove in three runs, scored two as the Pine Bush Rebels outslugged the Wallkill Panthers on Wednesday at Wallkill Area Little League.
Vincenzo Rubino had two hits, two runs scored, and two RBIs and Connor Laird had a hit, a run scored and two RBIs.
John Harrington had two hits, including a double, a run scored, and two RBIs and Ben Carrion had a hit, a run scored and two RBIs. Giovanni Vacante had a hit and two RBIs.

Hudson Valley Storm CF 6, Wallkill Panthers 6
A.J. Santacroce had three hits, a run scored and two RBIs, and Noah Pena had two hits and four RBIs as the Hudson Valley Storm Chapel Field and Wallkill Panthers battled to a seven-inning tie on Saturday at Wallkill Area Little League.
Christopher Grant singled, drove in two runs and had an RBI for the Storm.
Dominic Russo had a hit and two RBIs.

15U Division 4
Beekman Bombers 6, Pine Bush Rebels 4
Beekman Bombers 18, Pine Bush Rebels 4
The Pine Bush Rebels were swept by the Beekman Bombers on Saturday at Town Center Park in Beekman.
The Bombers got three runs in the bottom of the sixth to turn a 4-3 Rebels lead into a loss In the first game. Liam Tuttle doubled and drove in two runs for the Rebels.

Carlton Hilliard had two hits, including a double, a run scored and two RBIs in the second game for the Rebels. Brayden Tuttle had two hits for the Rebels. Cody Randazzo had a single and an RBI.

16U Division 3
Saugerties Dutchmen 5, Pine Bush 2
The Pine Bush Rebels scored first, but no more as the Saugerties Dutchman posted a win on June 23 at Pine Bush Town Park.
Cody Vanoyan had a hit and drove in a run and Cody Hanson doubled and drove in a run. Jason Hutchinson doubled.

High school/Legion Division 4
Westchester Xtreme 9, Hudson Valley Storm One 3
The Hudson Valley Storm One outhit the Westchester Extreme but were doomed when the Xtreme scored seven runs in the fourth inning on June 23 at Alexander Hamilton High School in Elmsford.
Ryan Andryuk had two hits and drove in a run. Tyler Valentin also had an RBI.

Sailors 6, Hudson Valley Storm One 5

A walk-off double handed the Storm One a loss on Wednesday at Sunset Park in Cortlandt.
The Storm broke a 4-4 tie in the seventh inning when Xavier Vargas scored on a passed ball to give the Storm the lead.
However, the Sailors picked up two runs in the bottom of the inning to win the game.
A.J. Grant had a hit, a run scored and two RBIs. Dan Decker had two hits, including a double and two RBIs. Tyler Valentin also drove in a run.
