Pine Bush takes second in Section 9 track

Madison Williams won two events and finished second in a third, leading the Pine Bush Bushmen to a second-place finish at the Section 9 Class A championship meet on Thursday at Rondout Valley High School in Accord.

The Valley Central Vikings were sixth with 45 points. The Bushmen were third in the boys’ meet with 74 points and the Vikings were eighth. The Monroe-Woodbury Crusaders won both the boys’ and girls’ meet with 182 and 190 points, respectively.

Williams won the girls’ long jump, reaching 19-10 and Carla Phanor was sixth with a jump of 15-7. Williams’ long jump was a personal best. She also won the girls’ triple jump with a personal best jump of 40-0.

Williams was second in the high jump, clearing 5-0 and Nyla Blakes was third with a season-best jump of 4-8.

Shaylen Goslar won the girls’ 800-meter run with a time of 2:13.90 and Elysia Jackson was sixth in 2:26.42.

Plexico Brooks won the boys’ high jump, clearing 6-4, and Alexander Russo was second, as he cleared 6-2 and Jack Fowler was fifth with a jump of 5-10. Brooks also was third in the boys’ long jump, reaching 20-7. He also was sixth in the boys’ triple jump, reaching 41-1.

The team of Andres Martinez, Alexander Russo, Shawn Riquelme and Nicholas Burgess wont the 400-meter relay in 43.01, and the girls’ team of Gianna Conklin, Elysia Jackson, Robeanna Fontana and Shaylen Goslar won the girls’ 1,600-meter relay with a season-best time of 4:02.51.

Valley Central’s Dayna Scott was second in the girls’ 100-meter dash with a time of 12.56 seconds. Catherine Primavera was second in the girls’ 400-meter dash in 59.80 seconds.

Sarah Del Pilar was second in the girls’ 3,000-meter run in 10:52.30.

Derek Vincent was second in the boys’ triple jump, reaching 42-10.5, and Reilly Benson was fourth in the girls’ triple jump, reaching 32-9.75.

The Vikings’ 400-meter relay team of Isabella Dinino, Primavera, Zialyse Moseley and Dayna Scott were second in 49.50 seconds.

Pine Bush’s Burgess was second in the boys’ 200-meter dash with a time of 22.07 seconds and second in the boys’ 400-meter dash with a time of 48.68 seconds.

Nathan VonDeben was second in the boys’ pole vault, with a jump of 12-6, and Averie Klein was fourth in the girls’ pole vault, reaching 10-6.

Conklin was third in the girls’ 400-meter dash with a time of 59.85 seconds, a personal best.

Hannah Pawlowski was third in the girls’ 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:59.12 and fifth in the girls’ 1,500-meter run in 5:14.56.

Joshua Dymond was third in the boys’ discus throw in 131-8 and sixth in the boys’ shot put, reaching 42-1.25.

Valley Central’s Caleb Sahlstrom was third in the boys’ 3,000-meter hurdles in 10:17.75.

Zialyse Mosely was fourth in the 100-meter hurdles in 16.19 seconds, and Derek Vincent was sixth in the boys’ 110-meter hurdles in 16.13 seconds. Kaelyn Marcano was fourth in the girls’ shot put, reaching 29-5.

Pine Bush’s Russo was fifth in the boys’ 100-meter dash with a personal-best time of 11.21 seconds.

The boys’ 1,600-meter relay team of Jack Fowler, Justin Moses, Aidan McQueen and Yauvani McKenzie was fifth in 3:30.20, a season-best.

The Valley Central boys’ 3,200-meter relay team of Emilo Abdelsayed, Ashton Ewald, Jack Dudzik and Daniel Weikel were fifth in a season-best time of 8:42.94.

Raul Rosario was sixth in the boys’ 3,000-meter steeplechase in 11:32.70.

Andrea Anzora was sixth in the girls’ discus throw, reaching 80-2.

The girls’ 3,200-meter relay team of Ava Dymond, Julianna Vanderkooy, Emma Sorge and Lillian Gabriele were sixth in 11:30.09.

Valley Central’s Aaron Frias was sixth in the boys’ 400-meter hurdles in 1:01.51. Emily Frank was sixth in the girls’ 1,500-meter run in 5:15.49.
