Lions advance to
State Final Four
William Wilson singled to break a tie to give the Section 9 champion Chapel Field Lions the lead for good in a 7-5 win over the Section 11 champion Bridgehampton Killer Bees in a New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class D regional baseball game on Saturday at the Middle County Athletic Complex.
Jonah McDuffie had two hits, including a double and a run scored, and Aaron Falkena had a hit and three RBIs. Wilson singled, scored two runs and drove in a run. Micah McDuffie singled, scored a run and drove in a run and Easton Vellenga had an RBI.
Mikey Bonagura went the distance with 10 strikeouts and allowed five runs.

The Lions will advance to the state Final Four and will face Section 5 champion Arkport-Canaserga at 1 p.m. at Mirabito Stadium in Binghamton on Friday.
The winner will play for the state championship against the winner of the other semifinal between Section 3 Oriskany and Section 2 Hadley-Luzerne at Binghamton University at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Chapel Field blanked
in regional final

Megan Sayles had the only hit for the Section 9 champion Chapel Field Lions, who struck out 18 times against Section 4 champion Deposit-Hancock pitcher Addison Makowski in a 5-0 loss in Friday’s New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class D regional final at the Greenlight Grand Slam Park in Binghamton.
Amanda Ray singled in a run for the Eagles in the first inning off Chapel Field pitcher Emma Spanjer. She allowed all five runs on nine hits, striking out three and walking four.
Olivia Johnston led the Eagles with three hits.

PB girls beaten in

lacrosse subregional
Molly Mitchell scored five goals as the Section 9 champion Pine Bush Bushmen were defeated, 13-4 by the Section 1 champion Suffern Mounties in a New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class A girls’ lacrosse subregional on Wednesday at Lakeland High School in Shrub Oak.
Caitlin Ruggiero scored two goals and Michaela Fay had a goal and an assist for the Mounties. Elizabeth Torres, Casey Schelling and Daniela Trubiano had a goal each. Charlotte Ullman had a goal and an assist.
Sophia Licardi led the Bushmen with a goal and an assist. Samantha Budney, Mackenzie Brown and Fiona Varley had one goal each. Grace Grant made seven saves.
