Mount Academy took the first eight places in a 15-50 win over the Highland boys’ cross-country team on Wednesday at the Hudson Valley Sportsdome in Milton.

It was the Huskies’ first dual meet of the season.
“it was a wet and muddy course, but otherwise a decent early season running day,” Highland coach Katie Mancuso said.

Mount Academy’s Donovan Baird won the boys’ meet with a 16:46, and Basil Metz was Highland’s top finisher with a time of 20:28. Zack Haeser, Alex Papazov, Cameron Adoma and Alex Weiss took 11th through 14th for the Huskies.

Jenaya Swinger won the girls’ race in 21:26 as the Mount Academy girls’ team beat the Huskies, 18-42.

Highland’s Alex Carey was fourth with a time of 24:20. Violet Brienza took sixth and Lily Sgroe was ninth. Scarlett Lovell, Abby Redner, Alice Dong and Delainey Reid were 12th through 15th.
