Local vendors blossom at Walden’s Spring Bazaar

The teen center at Walden’s Wooster Grove Memorial transformed into a shopping paradise last Saturday, April 21 during the Walden Council’s Spring Bazaar, an annual tradition in which vendors showcased their goods and mingled with residents.

Between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., visitors browsed over two dozen booths selling merchandise of all varieties, including cravesome confections, glittering jewelry, cozy home decor and carefully sewed accessories. Everyone involved greatly appreciates the wares on display, the camaraderie from the community council and the perfect location of the grove and its teen center.

“I like that it’s a clean environment, very helpful staff, and always a lot of customers,” said Esther Zaccone, owner of Sew EZ Creations, who sold handbags at the bazaar.

“The location and meeting all the people are great! We usually do pretty well,” said Maria Spencer, a vendor for Red Aspen, a company based in Idaho that sells beauty care products.

“I love seeing the people come out,” said Richard Phelps, a resident and a vendor for The Phelps Woodside Farm Apiary, who offered passerby samples of his farm’s homemade honey.

“We enjoy the people and everyone is very nice, said Joe Parisi, co-founder of Hot Rocks + Heavy Metal, a metal jewelry company based in Walden. His business partner, Patti Misener, added that the two “got to meet a lot of new friends and customers.”

“I love it, it’s wonderful. The vendors are very welcoming and friendly,” said Kaylee Emmons, owner of Kaylee’s Karma, a Reiki Healing service in Walden. “I’ve met a lot of people, which is always my favorite part.”

“The outside area is gorgeous and there’s a great mix of people and vendors, said Melissa Pikul, owner of Metal & Pieces, a fellow metal jewelry company from Warwick.
