The Wallkill Board of Education reappointed Joseph LoCierco as Wallkill Board of Education President during the district’s reorganization meeting on Thursday, July 6. Incumbent Board Members Kathryn Anderson, Erin McCartney and Vincent Petroccelli recited their oaths of office and Tom Frisbie was reappointed as vice president of the board.
LoCicero, a 1991 Wallkill graduate, has been on the School Board since 2010 and has been president since 2011. He has been an active member of the Wallkill Fire Department for more than 30 years, including a term as fire cheif, and has served as Town of Shawangunk Highway Superintendent. He is currently a candidate for the Shawangunk Town Board.
Frisbie has been a member of the school board for 17 years and has served as school board vice president for the past seven years. In addition, Frisbie serves on the audit and buildings and grounds committees, which are sub-committees of the board of education.

Bank of America, KeyBank, M&T Bank and Chase Manhattan were approved as the district’s depositories. The Wallkill Valley Times and Times Herald Record were approved as the district’s official newspaper. Nugent and Haeussler, P.C. were approved as the external auditors and Cooper Arias, LLP were approved as the internal auditors for the district. Bernard P. Donegan, Inc. was designated as the district’s fiscal advisor. Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, LLP were approved as the districts’ bond counsel firm. OMNI Financial Group, Inc. was approved as the third-party administrator for the District’s 403(b) and 457(b) plans; Ulster Insurance Services, Inc. approved as Student Accident Insurance Company, Broker of Record and Lisa Sipperly approved to authorize the opening of bids and Brian Devincenzi was approved and authorized to certify payrolls.
Members of the Board of Registration were approved as follows: Jennifer Ferrante at John G. Borden Middle School, Catherine Padilla at Clare F. Ostrander Elementary School and Robert Tejeda at Wallkill Senior High School as Registrars of District I; Jennifer Weber at Leptondale Elementary School as Registrar of District II; Gabrielle Carubia at Plattekill Elementary School as Registrar of District III and Kelli Corcoran as District-Wide Registrar. Sheryl Affuso, Gillian Batchasingh, Laura Bucker, Paula Cook, Mary Decker, John Doyle, Carol Graham, Tammy Henry, Jamie Hoyt, Charlotte Magliato, Carmela O’Donnell, Sherry Palen, Linda Palkovic, Elizabeth Patsey, Linda Schoonmaker, Catherine Siano, Linda Sullivan, Gail Thompson, and April Zoutis were approved for the Boards of Election.
For principal appointments, if there is no principal present in the building, were the following: Michael Redmond was approved to act as the Senior High School Principal, Scott Brown was approved to act as the Plattekill Elementary School Principal, Natalie Harjes was approved to act as the Leptondale Elementary School Principal, Brian Masopust was approved to act as the John G. Borden Middle School Principal and Monica Hasbrouck was approved to act as the Clare F. Ostrander Elementary Principal. Other consent items included several part-time district employees going into full-time positions, other non-instructional and instructional appointments and several co-curricular appointments.
