Meeting to focus on future of Walden Elementary School

Walden Trustee Becky Pearson invites residents to attend the Walden Village Hall at 1 Municipal Square this Thursday, May 16 at 6:30 p.m. to brainstorm ideas and discuss plans for Walden Elementary School, located at 75 Orchard Street.

Walden Elementary, previously a K12 school established in 1926, has endured over the century but faces aging infrastructure issues, including poor air conditioning in parts of the building, leaks, and inadequate handicap support. Starting this year, the Valley Central School District has hosted forums for residents to explore the building and provide feedback on critical areas, giving the district’s board a better understanding of what it should prioritize.

Pearson hopes to keep the discussion alive and encourages everyone to share their opinions about the elementary school. She noted that the meeting will be held on the village hall’s third floor.
